a daly city neighborhood says they have had enough of it. they have had their fill of it when a water main break sent a river of mud down their main street. we first showed you yesterday just take a look at those images that wall of mud and water burying several streets of a neighborhood near hillside park. and cbs 5 reporter cate caugiran tells us crews will get back to work trying to clean it all up if not already, cate. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. they got most of it from the road but it's still thick mud in the park. look at the mess from yesterday. you can see that mud inches deep covering that road in front of neighbors' homes. that water main burst brought down that inches thick of muck, silt and dirt. the clean-up went well into the night in this daly city neighborhood. look from chopper 5, neighbors were startled at 4:30 a.m. when police told them to leave their homes after 45,000 gallons of water came downhill. city leaders say it was because of a cast iron pipe that broke and that was made in the 1930s. >> you can see

i don't think we'll see flooding rains for those folks in daly city but i wouldn't park on that street again for a while. yeah, looks like a dry day today but this is it. we are going to head back into very wet pattern now in the bay area. outside right now, it is a quiet start to the morning some temperatures dropping off, 37 degrees in santa rosa, 38 in fairfield, 41 in livermore and 43 degrees in san jose. as we look toward the afternoon, some changing weather. it will be some mild temperatures but look at these spiraling clouds off the coastline. that is that area of low pressure slowly working its way in our direction increasing clouds throughout the day today. and then it looks like overnight tonight, into tomorrow, rain becoming more likely. so more clouds out there not as warm as we head toward the afternoon today but not bad. still pushing 70 degrees in some of the warmest spots. but this is it, folks. the last dry day. we have some wet weather even a stronger storm over the weekend. we'll have more on that in a moment. right now let's check the roads with elizabeth. >> betwee

the city added daly city that we've been watching closely since the big guns of water that sent a mud slide through the neighborhood. the park was buried in a bunch of cars were buried as well. yesterday we covered all of the construction and repairs going on. today we are out there watching what is going on in light of this fact that we have rain. we do not want rain to trigger another month slide. will tran is back in the area taking a look at what is being done today. >> the city crews are going around a neighborhood making sure the storm drains are clear. the rainfall or mud will go into them. it will be a long day, long weekend for the city as well as the residence here. even though over the past couple of days crews worked hard to shore up this place you can see the hay and straw and this netting over the field to prevent any further erosion. this is just a band-aid approach. we do not know what is going to happen moving forward. they will continue to monitor this throughout the weekend as well as the residents who say that the harder it rains of their anxiety level goes up. all
